ABSTRACT

Introducción: Estudios muestran que el estrés es el segundo problema de salud más importante relacionado con el empleo, lo cual ratifica la existencia de un elevado nivel de este trastorno percibido por los profesionales sanitarios, siendo el personal de enfermería uno de los más afectados en el entorno laboral. Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia del síndrome de desgaste profesional en el personal de enfermería de la Unidad Quirúrgica del Hospital Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany en tiempos de la COVID-19. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal, desde agosto hasta diciembre del 2020, que incluyó a 28 profesionales de enfermería de la Unidad Quirúrgica del Hospital Clinicoquirúrgico Docente Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany de Santiago de Cuba. Los datos se obtuvieron de las encuestas basadas en el cuestionario Maslach Burnout Inventory. Resultados: Predominó el sexo femenino entre los profesionales encuestados (85,7 %). La mayoría sobrepasaban los 10 años de experiencia laboral en la institución; 10,7 % de ellos tenían alto nivel de despersonalización. Asimismo, 14,3 % refirió cansancio emocional y solo 21,4 % sintió que poseía una baja realización personal. Ningún trabajador fue diagnosticado con el síndrome de desgaste profesional. Conclusiones: No existe homogeneidad entre los resultados obtenidos en diversas investigaciones respecto a la existencia de esta alteración en el personal de la salud. Lo anterior pudiera responder a particularidades propias de las áreas de trabajo, al tipo de institución hospitalaria, el volumen de asistencia médica prestada y a la presencia de estresores externos o no como la COVID-19.


Introduction: Studies show that stress is the second more important health problem related to the employment, which ratifies the existence of a high level of this disorder perceived by the sanitary professionals, being the nursing personnel one of the most affected in the working environment. Objective: To determine the prevalence of the syndrome of burnout in the nursing staff of the Surgical Unit at Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany Hospital in times of COVID-19. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out from August to December, 2020 that included 28 nursing professionals of the Surgical Unit of Dr. Joaquín Castillo Duany Teaching Clinical Surgical Hospital from Santiago de Cuba. The data were obtained of the surveys based on the Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire. Results: The female sex prevailed among the interviewed professionals (85.7 %). Most of them had more than 10 years of working experience in the institution; 10.7 % of them had high level of depersonalization. Also, 14.3 % referred emotional fatigue and just 21.4 % felt that possessed a low personal realization. No worker was diagnosed with the syndrome of burnout. Conclusions: There is no homogeneity among the results obtained in diverse investigations regarding the existence of this disorder in the health staff. The above-mentioned could respond to particularities characteristic of the workspaces, to the type of hospital institution, the volume of medical assistance offered and to the presence or not of external stress agents as the COVID-19.

Introduction: Healthcare organizations are entities predisposing to the development of burnout syndrome, described as a chronic job stress response composed negative attitudes and feelings towards people and the professional role. Significant fact because, healthcare team has a very close contact with the patients and families facing life-threatening situations. Objective: Determinate the prevalence of burnout syndrome in the healthcare team of the Intensive Care Unit Guillermo Grant Benavente Hospital, Concepción. Methodology: A descriptive relational study with simple random sampling, corresponding to 88 percent of all workers belonging to the ICU. Applied a questionnaire of sociodemographic background and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) that measured the three aspects of burnout syndrome, which correspond to emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. Results: The sample was made with 82 ICU workers. Clinical highlights, a mean age of 34 +/- 10.8 years, with a length of service of 8.5 +/- 9.2 years, 89 percent work in shift system, the average total score was 60 points MBI; emotional exhaustion and depersonalization subscale demonstrated low levels, and a high level of personal accomplishment (45.1 percent)...

ABSTRACT

Estudou-se a prevalência da síndrome de burnout em instituições hospitalares e escolares em conformidade com a saúde organizacional dessas instituições. A pesquisa empírica foi realizada em três escolas públicas de ensino médio e em três hospitais públicos, sendo um geral, um especializado e outro militar. Contou-se com amostra acidental de 168 participantes. Para avaliação da prevalência da síndrome de burnout, aplicaram-se o Inventário de Burnout de Maslach (MBI) e uma ficha sociodemográfica. Para análise de saúde organizacional, foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com pessoas-chave das organizações, utilizando um roteiro baseado nos fatores-componentes do construto. Os resultados corroboram a expectativa de alta prevalência da síndrome de burnout. Entretanto, não se encontraram diferenças de prevalência entre as instituições participantes, embora os participantes das escolas apresentem escores mais elevados no fator de Diminuição da Realização Pessoal. Em relação à variação da saúde organizacional, observou-se uma precária saúde organizacional em todas as instituições pesquisadas. No entanto, considerando a alta prevalência da síndrome de burnout, é adequado assinalar que os resultados corroboram a previsão de que um ambiente de saúde organizacional deficiente amplia a probabilidade de desenvolvimento da síndrome pelos trabalhadores. The prevalence syndrome of burnout was studied in schools and hospitals according to these institutions' organizational health. The empirical research was carried out in three public Junior High schools as well as in three public hospitals - general, specialized, and military. Accidental samples from 168 participants were used. In order to evaluate the prevalence syndrome of burnout, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and a socio-demographic form were applied. To carry out the analysis of the organizational health, semi-structured interviews with key-persons in such organizations were conducted following an itinerary based on component factors of the construct. The results confirm the expectation of high prevalence syndrome of burnout. Differences of prevalence among the researched institutions were not found, although the participants from the schools show higher scores when the Reduced Personal Accomplishment factor was focused. In relation to variance of the organizational health, it was observed it is precarious in all of the institutions. However, considering the high prevalence syndrome of burnout, it is appropriate to note that the results corroborate the prediction that an environment of poor organizational health increases the likelihood of developing the disease for workers. ABSTRACT

A partir da ampliação de sua prática profissional, incluindo, além do ensino, atividades de cuidado para com o aluno e a missão de garantir a articulação entre a escola e a comunidade, o professor se tornou mais suscetível a desenvolver a Síndrome de Burnout, doença ocupacional contemplada pelo Ministério da Saúde desde 1999. Um dos responsáveis pelo seu diagnóstico institucional é a perícia médica. Dada a importância do diagnóstico correto da Síndrome de Burnout, esse estudo teve como objetivo investigar, através da aplicação de questionário e da consulta a fichas médicas, o conhecimento da perícia médica da Junta Médica Municipal da cidade de João Pessoa, PB, a respeito dessa síndrome. Os resultados apontaram o desconhecimento da legislação e da Síndrome de Burnout e a necessidade de uma intervenção de políticas públicas que proporcionem um maior preparo dos médicos peritos e uma melhor assistência à saúde mental do professor.


From the expansion of his practice, including, in addition to teaching, activities of student care and the mission to ensure the link between the school and community, the teacher became more susceptible to developing the Syndrome of Burnout, occupational disease covered by the Ministry of Health since 1999. One of the institutional responsibility for their diagnosis is the medical expertise. Due the importance of correct Syndrome of Burnout diagnosis, this study aimed to investigate, through the implementation of the questionnaire and medical records consultation, the knowledge of medical expertise from the Medical Board of the João Pessoa city, PB, about this syndrome. The results pointed to the ignorance about legislation and Burnout of Syndrome and to the need for public policies that provide a better preparation of medical experts and better care of the teacher mental health.


De la expansión de su práctica, incluyendo, además de la enseñanza, las actividades, la atención para el estudiante y la misión de garantizar el vínculo entre la escuela y la comunidad, el maestro se convirtió en más susceptibles a desarrollar el Síndrome de Burnout, enfermedad profesional cubierto por el Ministerio de Salud desde 1999. Una de las responsabilidades institucionales para su diagnóstico es la experiencia médica. Debido a la importancia del correcto diagnóstico de síndrome de Burnout, este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar, a través de la aplicación del cuestionario y de la consulta los registros médicos, el conocimiento de los conocimientos médicos de la Sala Médica de la ciudad de João Pessoa, PB, a partir de la síndrome. Los resultados apuntaron a falta de legislación y del Síndrome de Burnout y la necesidad de políticas públicas que proporcionen una mejor preparación de los expertos médicos y una mejor atención de salud mental del maestro.
